Originally I was going to make a little book
out of Woodpecker and Moving Cactus.
Woodpecker was a story Michael Paulus
told me. Moving Cactus is an urban legend.
Mike had already provided pictures for
my short story book Tree Frog in 1991.

Mike designed the Woodpecker cover
to look like a grade school book.
However, lacking the funds of
Scholastic Books, the idea dissolved.
But the stories reappeared in
Pie In The Sky magazine
a few years later.

for the cover of Alphabet Faucet.
